The Board of Visitors allocates funds to Children’s National through both its Annual Grants and Major Gifts Program. Through the Board’s fundraising efforts, the Annual Grants Program has awarded more than $8 million to support initiatives to develop and sustain cutting-edge research and innovative treatments, purchase critical medical equipment, improve patients’ hospital experience and support the professional development of our doctors, nurses and hospital staff.

The Board of Visitors grants, like the patients and families at Children’s National, are remarkably diverse. Past awards have supported research, cutting-edge equipment and technology, pediatric surgical robots, professional development, educational support, and the transformation of Little Tykes cars and wagons to accommodate devices for oxygen, IV poles and monitors for our smallest patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
